Dialectic (διαλεκτική) refers to discourse between two or more people holding different points of view on a subject, but wishing to establish the truth through reasoned arguments. This encapsulates the journal’s aims of promoting philosophical inquiry by engaging with past and contemporary thinkers in original ways.
Dialectic is a journal of undergraduate philosophy published by the University of York Philosophy Society. We are looking for high-quality work from undergraduate students from the UK and beyond.
Many thanks to all who submitted for our Autumn 2018 Edition of Dialectic. Copies can be found in the University of York Philosophy department and online.
We now accepting papers for our Spring 2019 issue. Papers should be on the theme of political philosophy and suitable for an undergraduate audience. If you would like to be considered for our Spring 2019 edition, please send your submissions to dialecticjournalsubmissions@gmail.com
